On Thursday 07 August 2008 at approximately 10.30am the Australian Dedicated Short Range Communication Cluster was officially launched. Approximately 80 people attended the event at 55 Collins Street in Melbourne which provided a picturesque backdrop for the launch.

The Launch was officially opened by Dr Gary White, Research Program Manager of the Cooperative Research Center for Advanced Automotive Technology (AutoCRC). AutoCRC. Mr John Humphreys of Global Innovation presided over the event which consisted of a number of guest speakers:

The AusDSRC cluster aims to bring together government, industry and academia to promote the deployment and use of Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) on Australian Roads.
